Weekly or biweekly 53 minute sessions
These are available as Private Pay or using your insurance benefits. I am in-network with BCBS PPO, Blue Choice, and Aetna PPO/EPO/HMO.
The standard 50-60min sessions were designed by insurance companies, NOT therapists or clients. You do not have to be held back by their parameters.
I've created the services listed below to allow you even more choice in HOW you receive treatment and in getting the right kind of support you need. These services are not covered by insurance plans and are available as Private Pay only.
For individuals that find themselves frequently on the verge of something very helpful when time is up, and then you have to hold until the next session. Take the time you need, give yourself the space to do more... when YOU want it.
These are very targeted, specially curated therapy experiences for highly motivated clients that want to zero in on a specific focus to make greater progress in a shorter period of time than can be achieved with weekly 53min sessions.
Intensives can be designed in single 3hr or 5hr blocks, two 3hr blocks, or 3 2hr blocks in the same week.

Weekly sessions become very relational over time and often can fall into more time being spent on small-talk or update conversations, which do have value but are not for everyone and do not serve many clients in achieving their goals. Intensives are for clients who are really ready and motivated to go deep, want to minimize the small talk, and are looking for more accelerated change in a specific area. Skip over the the Intensives page for more information.

No Surprises Act
As of January 1, 2022, you have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate explaining how much your medical care will cost. Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who do not have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the bill for medical services.
For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises or call 800-985-3059.
You may be able to apply your insurance benefits to an initial assessment and 53 minute individual sessions as there are service codes that allow for billing to insurance companies. I am an in-network provider with BCBS PPO, Blue Choice, Aetna PPO and HMO. For those plans, I will bill your insurer directly on your behalf and apply your copy/deductible at time of service. For those wanting to use Out-Of-Network benefits, I will provide you with a Superbill upon request and you will be responsible for seeking any reimbursement. Extended sessions and Therapy Intensives do not have service codes that allow for billing to insurance and therefore are strictly Private Pay options, regardless of network status. However, you may still use your HSA/FSA funds to pay for these services because they are healthcare services.
The duration of therapy sessions at Integrative Counseling Group is typically 53 minutes for individual therapy and 90 minutes for extended therapy sessions. Intensive packages can also be booked for deeper, highly focused work. Please visit my Intensives page for more information.
Virtual and in person therapy sessions are offered Monday through Friday. There are limited evening appointments available and no weekend availability. In person sessions are available on Tuesdays in Naperville.
The first session is called an Intake Appointment or Initial Diagnostic Assessment and is unique from other therapy sessions in that there is a great deal of information gathering. It is focused on understanding you, the reason you've scheduled an appointment, and it is a key part of creating a customized plan to help you reach your goals. Although scheduling the first appointment can be anxiety-inducing for many, this is an opportunity for us to get to know each other and determine if we are a good fit to work together on the issues at hand, which often results in some immediate relief.
Telehealth allows me to meet with you via computer/smartphone for online video sessions when needed for access to care and as a more convenient way to prioritize your mental wellness. ICG uses a HIPAA-compliant interface for your privacy and no video sessions are recorded/stored in any manner.
